Little Dylan Studios
Brendan O’Connor is a multi-talented musician engineer producer based in Kerry. A time came when his busy Recording Studio had to relocate. The new home was a bungalow, leased, so no major building work was possible. The rooms were square, which is the worst starting position. They were described by local Mastering Engineer Ruaírí O’ Flaherty, as ‘from hell’.
IA took the challenge. A site visit resulted in some Acoustic measurements. This Waterfall plot shows how some of the low bass frequencies would ring on for ages. This was a boomy out of control room.
IA prescribed Acoustic Treatment consisting of DIY Corner Bass Traps in conjunction with GIK panel traps. The plan was visualised in Google Sketchup.
Brendan and his brothers constructed the SSC’s and installed the panels. Our client and his clients are delighted with the result. The ‘room from hell’ is now the happily busy Little Dylan Studios
